2024 Assessment Notice

Notice is hereby given that the assessment roll for the RM of Frenchman Butte No. 501 for the year of 2024 has been prepared and were mailed on April 5, 2024.

The assessment roll will be open for inspection from April 5, 2024 to May 6, 2024 at our office.

Any person who wishes to appeal their assessment is required to file a notice of appeal accompanied by an appeal fee, the fee will be returned to you if you win your appeal.

Appeals must be submitted by May 6, 2024, before 4:30 pm.

Re-assessment years are only every 4 years, 2025 will be the next re-assessment year for everyone.

 

Regarding 293 exemptions:

If you qualify for a 293 exemption and you do not see it reflected on your assessment, you will have to appeal your assessment.   After 4:30 pm on May 6, 2024 we will no longer accept appeals or 293 exemption forms for the 2024 taxation year.

If you did not receive an assessment this year but know you did not get the 293-exemption last year, you must come in and file the appeal, or your taxes will not change from last year.

If using rented land for your appeal, you must have a document signed by the landowner along with the quarters you rent, in which they are not using towards their own 293 for this year. The land you can use towards a 293 exemption must be located within our RM or an RM adjacent to RM 501.

It is mandatory that everyone who qualifies for a 293 exemption must fill out a 293-exemption form prior to October 1, 2024 as well as every year going forward.
