Unfortunetly, Health Canada’s PMRA has denied Saskatchewan’s request for emergency use of strychnine for Richardson’s ground squirrel control in the 2026 growing season. As a result, strychnine will not be available again this year.

The RM will have Rozol available again this year for local producers.

Keep in mind the most effective time to poison is early spring, before green vegetation emerges.
