Caution: Use Boat Launch at Your Own Risk

Please be advised that due to low water levels at Perch Lake, users of this boat launch may encounter hazardous conditions. Approximately 20 feet from the end of the launch, there is a submerged hump that poses a risk of striking boat props or damaging watercraft.

The Rural Municipality of Frenchman Butte No. 501 is currently working through the necessary steps and permissions to address the issue. We are consulting with multiple agencies to figure out the proper process and permits required for a safe and environmentally compliant fix. Unfortunately, we’ve been advised that the turnaround time to receive the appropriate approvals will extend into late September. As such, any corrective work to address the hazard at the boat launch cannot proceed until those approvals are in place.

In the meantime:

• Launch with caution and at your own risk.
• Be aware of shallow water and underwater obstacles.
• Reduce speed and proceed carefully near the end of the launch.
